Sex/Work Strike ’24, March 8th

On International Women’s Day this year, join us as we take to the streets to demand an end to the violence we face in every area of our lives. We demand an end to the oppressive policies and practices that enable clients and pimps to harm us.

On March 8th, at 6:30PM, we will leave our brothels, strip clubs or homes and take a stand against the sexist, racist and criminal laws that jeopardise our lives as sex workers. We will not see clients. We will not answer our phones. We will not sell sex.

We are striking with one core demand: We Want To Live.

We demand an end to the inhumane treatment we receive at the hands of the police, the state, those who enforce and control arbitrary borders. We demand an end to the stigma that keeps us isolated and invisible on the fringes of society. We demand to be allowed to live with the safety and dignity we deserve.

As workers and as women, we know our power. Without our labour, the systems around us will fail. Whether it’s in the workplace or in our homes, capitalism and the patriarchy rely on us.

On this day, we will strike as a show of our collective strength and a reminder of the potential we hold.

When we move through the streets of Central London, we will hold the women of Palestine in our heart. We will not be liberated until the people of Palestine are liberated. Our liberation will not come without the liberation of all people who routinely face violence and state oppression globally, under the same oppressive systems that inflict violence upon us.

We invite all sex workers as well as friends and allies of all genders to stand with us. Bring your red umbrellas and your Palestine flags and get ready to make some noise. These are our streets, and we will take them back.

We call on all sex workers and all who consider themselves feminists: march with us.

Join us at Soho Square at 6:30pm on March 8th.
